About Me

This is my 26th season with Dynamic Edge Dance Center. My journey in the dance world began in 1983 when my daughters, Demetria and Sarah, first enrolled in classes. I was actively involved in their dance education and cherished every moment, especially traveling to places like Texas, New York, Tennessee, and Australia. The journey continued with my three granddaughters—Alexia, Emma, and Makenna—at Dynamic Edge. Creating these memories with my grandchildren is even more rewarding.

I am known as the “studio yiayia,” a role I take to heart. My greatest joy comes from getting to know our studio families and spending time with all the dancers.

While I have no formal dance training, I was a multi-time national roller-skating champion in my youth. I began figure and dance skating at age two and am qualified to instruct in both. Additionally, I became a certified Zumba instructor alongside my daughter, Demetria. I have also had the pleasure of traveling the country working for Celebrations Talent Competition, traveling weekends across the country.

It has been a privilege to work alongside my family: Sarah as the Assistant Artistic Director, and Demetria as a Zumba and recreational instructor. This season is bittersweet, as Makenna will graduate from high school and studio dance will pause for her; however, the legacy continues with Alexia as an instructor and Emma as a substitute teacher.

When not enjoying dance, whether it be studio, high school, or college, you can find me spending time with my husband of  52 years. We enjoy doing mission trips and are involved in our Church. Our favorite pastime is being with our family and enjoying this journey called “life”.

Dance is family…..family is Dance.
